The Second Army Observation Group is an inactive United States Air Force unit. It was last assigned to the Second Army Observation Wing, United States Army Air Service, during World War I in France. The organization was inactivated in early 1919 as part of the United States withdrawal of forces from Europe after World War I and the demobilization afterwards.
Formed at Kelly Field, Texas in August 1917 Organized in France during spring of 1918 as Second Army Observation Group. Consisted of three French Air Force (Armée de l'Air) Escadrille (N.28, N.47, and N.277) detached from the French Third Army, supported Second United States Army. Flew reconnaissance and mapping missions over combat areas, operating primarily in eastern France.
